StressTech DMA
The Complete Rheological Characterization System

StressTech DMA is a complete Rheological Characterization System specifically designed for those scientists who require testing capability on samples ranging from low viscosity fluids, thru concentrated dispersions, polymer solutions, and polymer melts, to solid state mechanical
properties on test bars, films, and fibers. The Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA) option, i.e. Solid State Properties of polymeric materials (G', G'', Tangent Delta, etc.) is built on StressTech , The World's Finest Rheometer platform. Information pertaining to polymer morphology, the extend
and type of crystallinity, degree of
cross linking, compatibility between phases of multi-component blends, impact resistance, and state transitions (i.e. Tg) can be obtained as a function of temperature, force, deformation, and time. The data is useful in determining the relationship between sample molecular structure and product performance.
The measurement principle is based on the deformation of a known geometric size element subject to a twisting torque. StressTech DMA imparts a user selected torque (stress) or deformation (strain) on the sample and monitors the response. The instrument has a temperature range of -180 to 600C, with programmability allowing constant, step, and gradient temperature profiles. The instrument can analyze most geometric samples including sheet, film, and rod. Utilizing quantitative Normal Force Sensing, a constant tension or compressive force can be maintained on
the sample, and, in addition, thermal expansion coefficient can be determined. The instrument can be easily switched to parallel plate mode for polymer melt analysis and concentric cylinder mode for solutions.
